Changing Up Your Holiday Plans This Year

October 11, 2016

Are you trying to figure out how to set up your family’s fall and winter get-togethers already? Thanksgiving is not far off, followed then by a bunch of opportunities to have your family around. This year, why not change things up? Instead of doing the traditional turkey and fixings, why not have a different style of dinner for everyone to enjoy? Here are some ideas that could give your holiday party something new and fun to talk about.

Go Super Family-Centric and Make Homemade Pizzas

If you want to have a relaxing holiday gathering, consider dropping the formal gathering and going totally relaxed. This can make for a very fun day that will be sure to stand out among your holiday memories. All you need to do is make sure you have lots of pre-made dough for people to use as their crusts, have some pizza sauce, and lots of toppings for people to choose from. This is a meal everyone in the house can make, from the tiniest of toddlers to the oldest of matriarchs or patriarchs of your family. Plus, each person can create exactly what they want without feeling like they need to make others happy with the toppings they choose.

Consider a Cleveland Clambake

While turkey may be the traditional protein of Thanksgiving, fish can easily be just as filling and comforting. This year, instead of trying to do something different with the same dozen staples, consider having a clambake. Not only does it taste amazing, but you can also have it catered. It brings in a summery flavor, no matter what the weather is like in Cleveland that day. Let someone else do the cooking and deliver it to your house. Then, you can enjoy spending time with everyone that comes over, and don’t have to feel like you are stuck in the kitchen!

Thanksgiving is about family, not what you eat. Take the time to consider a pizza day or clambake, Cleveland. It could give your family the most fun and best memories you have had in a few years. Enjoy who is there, create new memories, and eat delicious foods. That is far more important than what type of foods you have out on the table. Create a new tradition this year where you try a different entrée for one of the holiday gatherings and see how much fun it can be!
